Description

Merino wool mattress protector

Wool mattress protector from the Merino Line collection is a product that transforms the character of your bed. We created it to combine a protective function with luxurious comfort. This is not an ordinary topper. It’s an extra layer of pure, living wool, enclosed in a noble ticking, which insulates your body from the synthetic materials of the mattress. It’s an investment that extends the life of your bed and improves the quality of every night.

Why put wool on a mattress?

Most modern mattresses are made of foams and synthetic materials. They’re comfortable, but they don’t wick moisture well. The result? Sweating and the feeling of “cold back” in the early morning. By placing a Merino Line wool mattress protector on your mattress, you change the standard of your sleep. You gain insulation and the certainty that your body rests on 100% nature. It’s a simple way to refresh your bedroom without replacing the entire bed.

A natural barrier and hygiene

Your mattress is an investment for years, but it’s hard to wash. The Merino Line protector takes on that task, but does much more. Thanks to the lanolin content in sheep’s fleece, it creates an environment unfriendly to dust mites and bacteria. It works like a biological shield. It not only protects the mattress from mechanical soiling and abrasion, but above all it protects you from allergens that accumulate in the bed.

The secret of durability lies in the ticking

A mattress is the place where it’s hardest to keep things clean. The Merino Line protector takes on dust, dead skin, and moisture. Thanks to the lanolin content, wool naturally limits the growth of dust mites.

  • Secure fastening: strong, wide elastic bands in the corners make the protector fit the mattress perfectly and not roll up under the sheet.
  • Easy refreshing: the protector is much easier to air out (which wool loves) than to clean an entire mattress.

Create your own sleep system

Sleep is a system of connected vessels. Wool mattress protector is the foundation on which you build your rest. To complete this process, choose a duvet and pillow from the Merino Line collection. This way you’ll create a complete, natural ecosystem. Your body will be wrapped in noble fleece from every side—both from above and from below. This solution is especially recommended for people who value uncompromising quality of recovery.

How to Care for Wool? Care Instructions

Caring for your Eurowolle products is the key to preserving their health-supporting qualities for years to come. Remember: pure, living wool is a natural fiber. It doesn’t need frequent washing—by nature it repels dirt and refreshes beautifully when aired in fresh air.

But when it’s time to freshen it up, follow the guidelines below. Think of it as a home SPA ritual for your duvet.

Golden Rules (What you need to know)

  1. Wool likes to be alone (Sorting): Never wash wool items together with other laundry. Keep them separate from coloured fabrics, heavily soiled items, or anything with sharp hardware (zippers, buttons).

  2. Your care roadmap is on the label (Symbols): Always check the care tag. It contains the binding guidelines for temperature and drying methods.

  3. No spinning: Wool must not be spin-dried or wrung out. Centrifugal force can permanently felt the delicate fleece.

  4. Shade, not sun: Always dry products laid out flat in an airy place, away from direct sunlight. UV rays can dry out the fibers.

  5. The iron is your enemy: Under no circumstances should wool products be ironed.

The Hand-Washing Ritual (Step by step)

The safest method for wool is a gentle water bath. To do it correctly—and to avoid “thermal shock”—follow these precise guidelines:

Step 1: Water. Prepare a bathtub or a large basin with lukewarm water. Temperature is crucial: it must be 20–25°C. This cool bath helps prevent wool from shrinking.

Step 2: The right cleanser. Add our specialist Lanolin Liquid (ratio: 50–100 ml per 10 liters of water). Regular detergents can strip wool of its natural oils, leaving it rough.

Step 3: Soaking. Submerge the duvet and leave it in the water for about 60 minutes. During this time, gently turn it over and lightly press it. Let the lanolin soak into the fiber structure.

Step 4: Rinsing. Rinse the product in water at exactly the same temperature as the wash. A sudden change in water temperature is the most common mistake—and it damages wool.

Step 5: Draining. Don’t wring it out. Let the water drip out on its own, or gently press it. Dry flat in a well-ventilated area.

Stain Removal (The “Foam Only” Method)

A small mishap? You don’t need to wash the whole duvet. Try spot cleaning instead:

  1. Prepare a solution: 50 ml of Lanolin Liquid per 5 liters of water.
  2. Create a thick foam.
  3. Apply only the foam (not the water) to the stain using a slightly damp sponge or cloth.
  4. Wait 5–10 minutes for the lanolin to work.
  5. Wipe the area clean and rinse gently.

How to Nourish Wool? (Recommendation)

Wool needs lanolin just as your skin needs a moisturiser. Regular washing powder is the worst thing you can do to it.

For care, we recommend: Eurowolle Lanolin Laundry Liquid

Created not only to clean, but also to protect and preserve.

  • Replenishes natural lanolin where it’s been lost.
  • Protects the fiber structure from breakage.
  • Keeps wool soft and resilient for years.
